I recently went to the District Court to retrieve some legal papers for one of my relative living outside the city. I didn’t had the clue that what type of case has been filed but only got the names. I asked one of the record room official to inform about the said case. In reply, the record room official handed over me a file containing names of case filers for the month of May (only one month). I was amazed to see that the file had over 2000 cases registered only in one month. Out of these all, 90% cases were based on divorce/separation of couples.
It is really tragic to see the higher divorce rate situation in Pakistan among the couples. One Civil Judge in the court is handling at least 70 to 90 divorce/separation cases per day. Neither husband nor wife are compromising especially in the presence of children’s. No doubt, both are the Tyre of one vehicle and car will not run until both work simultaneously. I have always heard from the elders that marriage success depends upon the sacrifice of females (as a wife) where as husband hardly take steps in this regard. These days, i think husbands are sacrificing more then females.
